2002 - Entered the fitness industry full time as the Group Exercise Director for Social Security Administration
2003 - Obtained my Personal Trainer Certification and started training clients individually
2004 - Completed 200+ hours of Classical Pilates training obtaining my mat and apparatus certification. I then created and directed a Pilates Program at Social Security Administration
2006 to 2009 - Transitioned to commercial fitness as a Personal Training Director for Brick Bodies, managing daily business operations for the department of one club as well as educating, developing and supporting the personal training staff. Additionally I trained clients and instructed small group personal training classes.
2009 to present - Formed Body Serious, LLC to focus all of my time and efforts on the education, success and needs of my clients as a full time trainer. Initially I operated out of Brick Bodies Green Spring then Padonia locations as an independent contractor and when the Pandemic closed all gyms my husband and I converted our garage to a fitness center to meet the needs and safety concerns of my devoted clients and of our family.
I look forward to working with you!
Body Serious Personal Training & Pilates
Personal training and pilates
I have always been health and fitness focused. I started exercising and making healthy food choices at the age of 12. I'd go for a run, swim and do water aerobics in my pool. I worked in the daycare center at the local gym at age 14 and by age 16 I was weight training, taking and teaching aerobics classes!
In college I worked at an accounting firm but also taught group exercise classes and worked as a Fitness Center Attendant on campus. I took Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at a Martial Arts Studio and learned, in authentic form, the basics of the heavy bag, punches and kicks. I became the head instructor for their cardio-kickboxing program...those were the days of Billy Blanks and Tae Bo!
I have a double degree in Business Management and Marketing from Elon University/University of Delaware. I never thought fitness would be my career but when it did, I started taking classes at CCBC to obtain an Associates Degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. So the timeline continues.....
